An interview with Maria Dius

Hi everyone! I'm very glad to show you my first collaboration with an amazing and beautiful person like Maria🌺. Before I'll show you the interview I want to thank her for answering to my questions and I hope we'll still collaborate.

🌺Can you tell my readers about yourself and your blog?

Well, I'm Maria Dius, 17 y.o., still a high school student. I run a Fashion, Beauty & Lifestyle blog (www.mariadius.com) with a big accent on Fashion, as I want to build a future career in this domain.

🌺How would you describe your blogging style?

To be honest, it needs a lot of improvement as I don't always find myself being constant and disciplined about my blog, even though I really wish I was. My blog is bilingual as I write my posts in both Romanian and English to ensure a better interface for all my readers. I always loved writing and I think that this passion is quite clearly noticeable in my blogging style. My posts are concise and well-structured with a lot of visual support via images or videos. I put a lot of work in my Instagram account and Youtube channel, as well.

🌺How do you want to improve yourself in the next year?

I want to be more disciplined in aspects such as my posting schedule and content planning - I'm not the most organised person on Earth and I believe that's really important for a content creator, especially nowadays when the competition is so serious.

🌺Can you name some of your favourite bloggers and explain why they are your favourites?

My top 5 favourite bloggers are Alina Ceușan, Audrey Leighton Rogers, Janice Joostema, Negin Mirsalehi and Camila Coelho. Alina is such an ambitious woman that manages to raise the standards of Romanian Fashion to an unbelievable level and set the next trends so naturally, I am fascinated. Audrey, on the other hand, has an impeccable photography and editing style. Janice, Negin and Camila are some of the biggest bloggers in the world working almost exclusively with luxury brands, yet I notice they're so modest and true despite their popularity and success, apart from the amazing content they create, of course.

🌺What inspired you to start your blog?

I always felt a need to express myself and share my tastes with the world, slowly starting to unconsciously build my Instagram audience with an original feed. Then, I realised that in order to be fully commited I needed a blog, a life portofolio that would also help me in the future for my college admission, for instance. That's how I started.

🌺What do you think is the best social media strategy for getting more visitors to a blog?

I think that Instagram is a golden tool when it comes to driving traffic to your blog, especially in Romania. If you attempt to grow over the borders, you should not forget about Pinterest - an amazing social network that can do wonders to your following. And be careful with giveaways - it's okay to reward your followers from time to time, but pay attention not to transform giveaways into the sole motivation your readers have to follow you.

🌺How would you describe your personal style and is there a person who is a fashion inspiration to you?

My fashion style has many influences. If I were to describe it shortly I'd say it's a mix of boho-chic, retro, victorian shoulders, palazzo pants, vinyl, warm colours, pearls and golden tones.

There are many fashion icons that influenced my style but if I had to name one I think it's Janice Joostema.

I like to be constant in my dressing appearance and not to vary much, because that's who I am. I think clothes are great way to show off your personality without even opening your mouth - so pay attention to it!

🌺Would you encourage other people to make their blog?

I think that you should make a blog only if you want to inspire people, to help them, to be a plus in their life. Not for money, not for fame. I think that a blog can make you evolve either into someone you'd be proud of or into someone you won't even recognize. So, I encourage you to do so only if you are able to be yourself all along the journey because when you stop being yourself you stop being true and that's the worst a blogger can ever be.

🌺In the future where do you hope your blog will take you?

I hope it will take me to my dream college, firstly, and then to fulfil my hopes of having my own fashion brand.

🌺What would you say that is the greatest satisfaction of being a fashion blogger?

To inspire. When I get beautiful messages from my followers I simply can't stop smiling because I keep telling myself "You did it. You are an inspiration" and this, I think, is the biggest satisfaction a blogger can ever have - to be truly significant to their readers.

Thank you again, Maria. I hope you enjoyed.
